Great to see games back on at our home, Bourne Farm, and many of our teams were able to go ahead with their away games. Our wonderful kitchen team were back in action....and even had a little help from Coach J!

U8’s played at home against Maidenhead Utd Hawks U8’s
It was great to see the team come out determined from the start this week. Things are definitely starting to click now. We got off to a flying start with Kenny securing a goal within the first period.
We then started the second period strong and full of determination but our opposition managed to sneak a goal bringing us level on the scoresheet. Soon after they secured their second goal giving them the upper hand but our team dug deep and executed some lovely quick passing which caught the opposition off guard allowing Leo L to bring us back level at 2-2. The match continued to be a very even game throughout with both teams battling to gain the upper hand. It was only then in the fourth period that the opposition managed to score again, despite all our efforts we just couldn’t find the equaliser to come away with a draw so final result was a win for Maidenhead Utd Hawks U8’s.
The final result doesn’t depict the game, it was a pleasure to watch and probably one of our best performances yet.

Player of the Match this week went to Leo L for constantly being on it and working nonstop all game.
We also welcomed a new member to our squad this week.
Leo B has slotted into the team well after only a few training sessions and I’m looking forward to watching

Sandgate U9s had a Tough Lesson Against Hurricanes FC Gold
Our day has not come yet, as we faced Hurricanes FC Gold at home and suffered a heavy defeat. It was a tough match, but also a valuable learning experience for the boys. Lukas managed to score our only goal, showing great effort despite the challenging game.
It's clear that we have areas to improve—both individually and as a team. There are plenty of lessons to take away, and we will focus on developing our skills, teamwork, and resilience in the coming weeks.
A positive takeaway was Lee’s talk with the boys and parents after the match, encouraging everyone to stay committed and put in more effort. With hard work and determination, we will come back stronger!

Sandgate U10s at home to Dorking
Gritty & Determined Performance from the boys today.
Both sets of boys equally matched blow for blow, hard-working effort by both teams good game to watch.
Very unfortunate error at the start of the game, had the boys 1-0 down early doors, but the boys stepped up.
The eventual goal arrived with a good diagonal pass from Oli (I believe) and Ryden coolly slotting the ball to equalise. Boys kept up the battle and in the dying moments fatigue crept in and Ralphy with a world class save to ensure both teams went away with a draw.
Lessons learned from last week and the boys worked there socks off.

U10 Colts play away to Sporttiers FC Blues today and the boys had their playing boots on. First half we looked dangerous going forward and managed to score goals by Wasil and more from Hussain. The home team caught us on a counter attack and managed to pull a goal back. One of our defenders (Mohammed) got hit on the face while his arm was up in the air, referee gave a penalty, but our brave goalkeeper (Natan) managed to stand his ground and make a save, first half we were up.
Second half was a bit of a struggle as the home team came out wanting it more than our boys and pulled a 2nd goal back, i quickly made a substitute before the home team corner kick to try and turn the game around. Corner kick was taken and one of our defenders (Mohammed) controlled the ball and started running towards their goal on the right flank and saw an opportunity to shot which he did and what an amazing goal from outside the box. We took control of the game again and finished it off with another amazing goal, defender passing it to the right wing, running up the flank and crossing it into the box for Hussain to finish with his first touch, securing the win for Sandgate. What a game to watch from the side line.

POTM - Luca, he was really impressive today playing center midfield blocking shots, clearing the ball, tackled and giving good passes up the field.

U11s were away against Maidenhead Warriors
The defence had another very solid performance, limiting Maidenhead to only a handful of half chances all game.
Going forward in the first half the recent successes had started to get to the players heads as shots were being attempted from all sorts of places. A counterattack out wide led to the first goal being scored by the in form Blake.
The second half started with a few strong tackles coming in from both sides with a couple going too far and risking players safety. However, the referee seemed happy to let the game run and only handed out a handful of free kicks and a very brief talk with a player after a tackle that left someone down for a while. Sandgate found their feet and began to work together again scoring from unselfish play. In the end comfortable win.
POTM: Kiana - After joining the club via the girls sessions she struggled to find her feet the first couple of games, going from the safety of playing with girls to not only boys but boys a year older. This game however was very much a breakout performance! She was flying around the pitch every second she was on, making brave tackles and starting counter attacks with quick passes. I honestly couldn't have been more proud.

U12 won 3-2 away to Feltham
A slow start left us 1-0 down after 1 minute, and after a scrappy first 10 mins we settled and dominated the game going into half time at 1-1 with Wayne scoring direct from a corner
Quick start to the 2nd half saw us go 3-1 up with 15 mins to go goals coming from Marco and Ronnie
Feltham got a cheap goal to make it 3-2 with 10 mins to go
Overall good performance from the team with 4 players out with injuries some great performances from players playing out of position
We move onto next week and it’s our first 11aside game on Saturday

U12 reds played away against Claygate - We won 8 - 0.
Brilliant performance from the whole team again. Some really great football to watch and really on it today. Could easily have been more but so very happy with the team effort and performance especially in the muddy conditions.

Player of the match - Could have gone to the whole team but gave it to JK and Daniel Z today - Solid at the back and JK came so close to scoring twice in the first half and played GK second half.

U12 Colts away at Mitchum
The boys got off to a great start, high pressure, nice passing, high energy.
First 15 mins they were unlucky not to score.
Then, in their first real attack, Mitchum won a penalty to go 1-0 up against the run of play. The boys were a bit shaken but carried on. Just on the stroke of half time Mitchum made it 2 after we failed to clear.
The boys came out after the break determined to get one back, but a loose ball broke to their striker, and he made it 3-0. With only one sub today due to illness and injury, tired legs and a few heads down made for hard work, and Mitcham soon went 5-0 up. (Their 4th was a worldie, and we all applauded the young lad, who couldn’t believe it had gone in!)
The boys woke up when Arif won, and then converted, a penalty, and then it was all Sandgate for the last 10 mins.
Jas played in JT who took his chance on the left slotting in bottom right.
If the boys had maintained this positivity and work rate through the full 60 mins the score would have been much less flattering to Mitchum!
Well done boys, that was hard work today, but even at 5-0 down, you never gave up.
POTM- two boys had an influential performance today, firstly Khalid in midfield, worked hard and battled throughout, and great see his passing game developing, and Mo was a rock in defence, solid, strong, and then delivering some wonderful distribution. Well done lads! ðŸ‘

U13 played Caterham Pumas in the league cup, we were a bit rusty and started slow but played well. Unfortunately couldn’t convert our chances today and I have to say their keeper made some amazing saves throughout the game and they took their chances.

U13 Red got back to winning ways with a comfortable 9-0 win away at Esher blues. Controlled the game from start to finish. Goals from Jenson 3, Frankie 2, Suraj, Harry, Ekam and an OG.
PotM went to Ekam for a great display on the right wing.
