With more rain last week, sadly not everyone got to play this weekend, but we managed games in most of the age groups. Read on to hear more.....
Sandgate U7 Colts were Away to the Explorers Blues.
Firstly thank you to explorers for reversing the fixture at such short notice, and for the entertaining game that was played.
The Colts started off very fast with Leo winning the ball immediately from kick off and playing the ball through for Jack to run behind the defence and convert. Explorers reacted to this incredibly well and were able to equalise and then take the lead within a couple of minutes. The Colts responded with an equaliser of their own just before the Whistle blew for the first Quarter.
After the Break it was end to end football, both teams played well and had opportunities to score, if it wasn't for some incredible defending at both ends of the pitch the scoreline might have gotten out of hand.
Overall it was one of the most entertaining games of football I have seen from the Colts this season and it's incredible to see how far they have come this season.
Special shout out to Leo, scoring his first goal for the club today!
The Managers Player of the match Was Grayson, was a brick wall in defence and also put in a shift when asked to go in goal making some amazing saves.
The Parents Player of the Match was Florence for her incredible tackling and defending, also played very well and got involved when asked to play out of her usual position.

U10 Colts played away to Slough Town Juniors which was a very nice venue as we got to play at Arbour Park stadium.
Our main goalkeeper was away on holiday so Jayden filled in for him to help the team. The boys were nervous at the start, maybe due to the environment they were in. The home team scored the opening goal which gave our boys an immediate lift and helped them get themselves together and start working harder, Jorden took the ball from central midfield and played a wonderful pass forward to Billy, which he held really well and managed to go past the home team defenders and score a very nice goal to put us level for the first half.
Second half was a good start but due to the changes in players the home team was coming at us every time we cleared the ball, thankfully due to the heroics of Jayden and his amazing saves he keep the team in the game. A very unlucky mistake by one of our defenders resulted in an own goal which was towards the end of the game, so we made some changes to bring on more attacking players to see if we could get an equaliser but after some good attacking play we could not score the goal we wanted and conceded another.

U12 played Feltham good game for the boys finishing 9-1

U12 reds drew 3 - 3 against Epsom & Ewell.
Disappointing performance from the team today in one of the biggest games of the season as they are better than how they played today but did well to get a draw in the end. Epsom deserved to win.
Not good enough team performance today from the boys which was a shame but some important lessons to learn for the boys and these are the tests that we want to have to show what we can do. They still managed to get a point to stay top of the league which is a positive.
Not many games left to go now and need to work hard to stay top if possible.
Good game for Matt at LM and well done to man of the match Daniel Z for a solid game today.
Also good to see Fares play his first game of season - Bit of a baptism of fire and more to come im sure.

U12Colts played top of the league Sutton Common Rovers. They could only field a team of 7, we unusually had a full squad of 9 on the pitch and 5 subs, but it was a day of missed opportunities for the Colts.
We were slow to start and found ourselves a goal down after a strong counter attack.
The boys remained patient and tried to work the additional space and players, but just couldn’t convert around the box.
A controversial equaliser from JT saw us claim a point from the game. Final score 1-1.
We were far from our best today, and really didn’t utilise the two extra men, but great for the boys to come away with a point against the league leaders.
Fair play to Sutton who played their hearts out today, two men down and no subs. Even though the numbers weren't even, the flow of play was evenly balanced with both teams creating chances at either end. A great display of resilience and determination from the 7 of them.
PotM went to Mason, straight off a night flight from the US! Great work rate, always looking for a link up pass or a through ball- a role model performance.
We return to Sutton in two weeks time, and they will be out for all three points with a full team!

U13 played away at Mitcham, after a long drive and only having 11 players and no subs we started really well.
We limited them to next to no shots and went in at half time 1-0 up.
Second half we were against the wind and playing uphill but again we kept our composure, played some great football and scored another 3 great goals with them having no shots on target.

Coach Jack’s PotM went to Harvey, he worked so hard, won every battle and gave 100% during the whole match.
Coach Joe's PotM went to Tommy G for his movement and great wing play especially off the ball.
My PotM went to Yuvi and Muzz as they were so dominant in winning each ball, pressing and batting hard all game.

U14s played at home to second in the league Ashstead today
We knew it was going to be a tough match today as both teams are pushing for the top spot behind Dorking
So it was a must win game for us.
We started quite well , knocking the ball around creating chances but then become a bit sloppy giving the ball away but still kept the other team at bay with some strong defending .
We went 1-0 up after Jordan pushed the ball through the defence and had the speed to beat the them to it to make it 1-0
We then dominated the game
We went on to score another 3 goals two from krish and another one from Jordan.
Can’t really remember the other team getting a shot.

U14 Colts played a reversed fixture against Raynes Park Vale Blues in the league this morning. The first half was end to end stuff as neither team took control - we were extremely slow to get into the game (playing only our 3rd league game since November 🫣).
We went into half-time having seriously underperformed, the talk revolved around the team needing to step up and take responsibility as there was only one team showing desire to win the game in the first half and it certainly wasn't us! We challenged the boys to come out as the team showing more passion, more desire to win lose balls and 50/50s and overall show more composure.
The boys didn't disappoint with us taking an early lead through Adam soon after kick off. This spurred the team on. and they quickly added a couple more with Finley and Ryleigh joining Adam on the scoresheet within 20 mins. We then switched off slightly as our visitors pressed to get themselves back in the game which saw them claw back a couple of goals.
The game now had a feel that the next goal would influence the final 10 mins, Adam drove through from the edge of the box and blasted the ball past their goalie to earn his hat trick. Finley wrapped up proceedings with his second going directly in from a corner - one for the season highlights!
Final score was 7-3 which will hopefully give the boys a confidence boost before we go to visit Raynes Park in the league cup next Sunday.
