After bad weather end of December and early January extending the christmas break, it was very exciting to be back on the pitches today. We hosted a number of home games and several teams in away action. Chairman Lee has done a phenomenal job looking after the pitches over the last few weeks to ensure the games could go ahead today. And, huge thanks to our kitchen team who kept us all fed and topped up with hot drinks this weekend.

U7’s were back in action this morning away to Eton Wick
Both teams playing their first game in a very long time and the game did not disappoint, I must admit, by far the best game we’ve had in a long time… huge credit to both teams !
We showed our never give up attitude throughout the game, and always looked to play forward searching for goals and created loads of chances, that on another day go in !

Unfortunately coach Frank missed the Sandgate U7 Colts match due to illness. Tom stepped in to help. Jack scored our first two goals of the season (first assisted by Leo) and Grayson saved a penalty.

Our U8’s played at home against S4K Windsor Wolverines U8’s
Considering the team haven’t played a match for 5 weeks I was impressed by their work ethic and drive today.
They came out strong and determined.
We quickly took the lead with getting an early goal but unfortunately despite many more opportunities being created from then we just couldn’t find the back of the net.
But the quality of football played today is something I want to see from them each week now as they’ve proven they can.
Shea was absolutely outstanding in goal today and kept the scoreline much lower than it could have been as our opponents were also creating many chances, and came out on top overall.
We received compliments for having girls in our team. And not just girls but girls who can actually play football, from one of the oppositions parents “it was refreshing to see a mixed team”

Player of the match without a doubt went to Shea for really having a fire in his belly and having a consistently great game.

U9 Colts played Isleworthians FC U9 Whites in a reversed fixture due to coach Bacai’s absence this weekend. Big thank you to the visitors for facilitating the reversed fixture.
Lee took the team with his calm and collective approach. We could have finished the game in double figures but a lot of chances were wasted or overlooked.
Alot of rotation of player positions during the quarters to get them enjoying all parts of the pitch. Jasraj pulled off some amazing saves to keep the visitors at bay.

MPOTM - IHAAN with some great work ethic, creativity and pure brilliance in some passes that didn't look on but gave our team the front foot. So much so he was knackered at the end of the game.
PPOTM - Onish good running and game ethic got fatigued towards the end which shows how much of a shift he put in today.

U9s Reds played their first match in the league at home, but sadly they lost
In the first half we were down, and just couldn’t muster a comeback.
It was great experience for boys though, and they all enjoyed the game.

U10 won away to Epsom after being 2-1 down at half time.

U10 Colts played away to Redcore Blacks today and due to lack of match practice for the past 5 weeks the boys were all over the place. First half we were down which were gifted rather than earned.
Second half was more of the same, a lot of opportunities to score but only managed to score 1 additional goal which was not enough to overturn the score line.

No player of the match today. Hopefully the boys will be on better form next week.

U11s hosted Sporttiers Blacks and played the kind of football you dream of watching. Having established early on that we were the better side, we kept our heads and instead of all getting greedy trying to score we continued to play the quick passing football we have been practicing. The highlight being Blake, while on a hat trick, going past 4 players to then square it to Robyn for an easy tap in. I honestly couldn't be more proud of the teams performance today! Also, credit has to be given to our opposition who kept going and played in great spirits throughout the game.

U12 Reds played against Abbey Rangers a very good football team and we won 9 - 0.
Very good performance from the team in their first game back for 2025. We keep our unbeaten league run going.
Man of the match - We had so many good performances today from the whole team but 2 players stood out for scoring hat tricks.
Tarila - First half hat trick really set the game up for us early and his work rate was fantastic.
Jake played GK first half and came on pitch and scored a second half hat trick to totally finish the game.
Really good football to watch today and so pleased with the effort and work rate 💪

U12 Colts played a friendly triangular with Harlie’s team and Slough Town.
Both our games went well, and we battled hard against both oppositions.
Perfect practice for returning back after the Xmas break.
We need to be tougher and more disciplined in protecting our goal, closing people down quicker and limiting options.
The boys played some great link up passes today, finding each other and always looking for a through ball.
Our two goals came from JT, who was awarded PotM for his hard work, and tenacious pressing of the oppo defence.
Shout out to Ralph too, who battled hard non-stop, he joined us this season from Slough Town, so it was a tough game personally facing his old team- he did brilliantly!
Well proud of all the boys today. Back to league action next week.

U13’s played NPL protons in the county cup
We hadn’t played since December and was playing a team from the SYL super division, 5 divisions above us.
I spoke to the boys and explained anything can happen in football, we started well, and as expected they had a lot of possession and chances. We defended well but We did concede through good play from the other team, going in 3-0 down at half time.
We had an injury leaving us with a bare 11 going in the second half, we started well and won a penalty early on. Unfortunately, they gained momentum and we couldn’t match their pace towards the end. We did end up with a fabulous consolation goal which after being frustrated for most of the game our striker took superbly.

Just wasn’t our day today but we gave our all against a much higher team and done ourselves proud. I’m really pleased with all the boys, they kept going to the final whistle and never gave up. Reaching the Quarter finals is a fabulous achievement, and the boys could do no more today.

U13 Reds played away to Carshartlon Athletic. As many have said we were a bit rusty with no game for so long. We dug in deep, and the first half ended 2-1 to us. Seeing out the second half without too much trouble we looked like we were going to hold on to what we had until a last second penalty was awarded to the opposition, which was questionable, and the game ended 2-2. Dropping points we can take, but the poor refereeing decision in the last second cost us 2 points today. Although must say he was a very good young ref through the rest of the game.

U14s played junior bees in the QF of the Middlesex trophy today.
We knew it was gonna be a tough start as we hadn’t played for a few weeks due to bad weather.
We told them to play high and positive, Play direct, Go at the defence. We Said go 2 or 3 nil up in the first 20 mins will kill the other team off.
The boys listened and went out there and played bees off the park. Great team effort today
Going through to the semis with an 8-0 win for our boys.

U14 Colts played Sheen Lions at home this morning. We had a slow start and struggled to shake off the cobwebs from not playing for over a month.
The game was end to end with our boys creating the better chances. The Sheen goalkeeper had an outstanding half making multiple fantastic saves that prevented us taking the lead.
Our visitors had the better luck as a misplaced clearance ended up in the back of our net giving them the advantage. It wasn’t long before we were back in the game with an equaliser from Adam. Score was 1-1 at the break.
The boys had a much better second half showing more composure on the ball and were fighting to win more. Adam added his second. With the score at 2-1 with just 5 mins to go saw our opponents go all out and throw everything at us in search of the equaliser.
A goal was coming as we were creating great chances on the counter and Sheen continued chasing the equaliser. The goal went in our favour as Adam completed his hat trick with the final kick of the game. Great to see us run out 3-1 winners.

Player of the match - lots of options this week with strong second half performances, but Ryleigh stood out for having given 100% through out the entire game.
