Weekly Match Reports Dec 13/14

The last weekend of football before the Christmas break, saw several team in action. Read on for the match reports……

Sandgate U8’s were at home vs Taplow Utd Clarets this morning.

This morning’s game was a ‘winner takes all’ with both us and Taplow having played 2 won 2 in the TVDL development group

We started the game very strong with the ball mainly being in the Taplow half, creating chance after chance but we just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net, having said this the squad kept working and soon we found ourselves with a few goals on the scoresheet

The next few quarters saw the game become an end to end game with both teams having chances but again both sides couldn’t take the chances. We regrouped and freshened things up and we soon found ourselves with another goal to our tally.

Taplow pushed on and managed to add a goal to their scoresheet, with Sandgate replying almost instantly with another goal. The 4th quarter saw both teams going for it with Taplow adding a few goals to their tally  and Sandgate pushing on creating more chances, Sandgate saw the game out to full time.

Player of the match - Rylee

A few big saves and awareness saw Rylee keep Sandgate in the game and in front. This lad is learning the ‘goalkeeper role’ every time he plays, listens and steps up when called upon

Sandgate U8 Colts won vs Burnham Junior Whites

An excellent performance from the team to end the year on a high with plenty of goals from Jack, Leo and Dmitry. POTM was Shia for his amazing performance in defence.

Bring on 2026…..

Our U9’s played at home today against Slough Town.

After having our teams Christmas party last night which turned into a pretty late one, the instructions given to the team were to just go out there and have fun.

We were missing Shea today and unfortunately due to an injury Izzy was unable to play. She was instead roped in as an assistant and picked today’s captain.

They started strong and surprisingly full of energy but after Slough managed to secure an early goal their heads dropped a little. That said they dug deep and worked hard all game, but by half time they were down.

A little pep talk at half time see them come out even hungrier for the second half. After 2 shots on target from Theo that were saved he struck gold third time lucky getting us on the scoresheet. Shortly after Kenny followed up getting us our second and final goal of the game.

Slough managed to find the back of the net several times throughout the game meaning we lost overall.

That said this week they really started to communicate with each other again and some great football was played.

A very good and enjoyable game to watch for both teams.

Player of the Match this week went to Milad, for a strong performance all round. A great asset to our midfield.

Sandgate U10s Colts Vs  Townsmead Whites

Today the team was excited to play for the group win in the TVDL and to keep our win momentum going.  We had  balanced scoring from

Lucas, Aryan , and Mathew.

Today's passing and unselfish plays was seen throughout the game. Again our time of possession was greatly in our favour. We had a  few miscues during corners but for the most part not too many mistakes. We lost our shutout streak of 5 games without the opposition scoring. The win was a team effort for certain as each player gets equal playing time to develop on our team. The boys are going into the new year full of confidence and on a 7 game win streak.

U11s beat Raynes Park vale

Quite good from us today.

U11 Colts played away to Hurricane Red

We started the first half very well going 2-1 up and looked comfortable on the ball.

After the half time team talk and changing a couple of players we looked shaky and immediately conceded more goals.

From that point on Hurricane Reds looked hungrier than us. Our main goalkeeper got injured trying to clear the ball off their attacker, this didn't give the rest of the boys hope of coming back and resulted in us conceding a further goals. Full time ended in a Sandgate loss.

U13s played at home v Top of the league Doverhouse

Very competitive game see us go into half time 1-0 up with a great volley from Ruben in his 2nd game for us

Nelson put us 2-0 up 5 mins into the 2nd half

Doverhouse got one back with 15 mins to go and we managed to hold onto the lead with a nervy 15 mins

Great overall performance from the boys many which have been out with sickness and injury over the last week or so

Goals from Nelson and Ruben

U13 Reds won 3 - 1 away to Isleworthians.

Was not a good game from the Reds, the team struggled to hit the target, took too long on the ball and failed to finish many of the attacks with anything but a tame effort but managed to get the win.

We gave away a silly penalty which Isleworthians converted to go 1 nil up.

Oscar reacted first and managed to get an equalizer with a goal from another JK corner assist with about 12 mins left of the half.

Kirill won a penalty late in the half and Tarila scored to make it 2 - 1.

Second half we kept Isleworthians in their half for most of the half. We was very wasteful with a lot of chances doing all the hard work but not finishing or testing the GK.

Tawhid managed to find the target about midway through the half to seal it 3 - 1.

Good to finish the year with a win, got a bit of work to do on shooting, hopefully a few of them get some shooting boots for Christmas....

Player of the match - Daniel B - Very solid at the CM and defence. Good performance from him and one of the positives from the game.

U13 Whites ended 2025 top of their league beating Fullerians 11 - 1 today. It was a joy to watch the team play today. They were on fire and played the best I have seen them play which was good to see especially with all the new players that have signed. The team passed and moved the ball so well today and a good number of goalscorers also.

Fantastic midfield performance from Frankie to really dominate the game and capped off with a lovely goal. Very good to see his confidence growing. Also a faultless performance from Jake as CB today and captain of the team leading them so well. Giving Fullerians nothing and getting forward well scoring 2 goals also and coming so close to getting a hat trick. Both players deserved the player of the match today.

Charlie and Daniel B coming close to getting a hat trick both scoring 2 goals.

Simon playing his 3rd game and getting his first goal for us also playing a year up.

JK got a well deserved goal and could have got more but the Fullerians GK pulled out some cracking saves. He also set up one of Jakes goals with a beautiful corner for the assist.

Kamal sealed the win with a late goal to cap off his solid CM performance partnering Frankie very well.

We played a large part of the second half playing against an extra 2 players (11 vs 13) due to the scoreline and still managed to continue to score goals which was great to see.

Great way to end the year and stay top of the league.

Player of the match - Frankie & Jake (both were so good)

Goals:

⚽️ Frankie

⚽️ Tarila

⚽️ Daniel B x 2

⚽️ Charlie x 2

⚽️ Jake x 2

⚽️ Simon

U13Colts Won - Yay!!!!- in a bottom of the table clash away at Reigate Kestrals.

The team started well with some really positive play, but didn’t capitalise on their chances.

Just 5 mins before the break Ash (on his Sandgate debut) broke down the left and beat the keeper, to take us 0-1 into the break.

Confidence was high and there was really nice football on display, linking up, and playing out of defence.

Another Sandgate debutant today, Manuel, then made it 0-2, taking a great strike from outside the box.

Inara wasn’t going to miss getting on the scoresheet, and converted our 3rd and 4th making the keeper work hard with both efforts, but picking up her own rebound.

Reigate got one back, but the team rallied on and Charlie sealed the deal with a great run down the right holding off his defender to slot home.

A well deserved 1-5 win today, great to see out 2025 with such big smiles on their faces.

Thanks to Mason B for stepping into goal. Whole team were awesome today, so we agreed whole team deserved PotM, as too hard to single out any one player today.

U14 Reds lost 5-1 to Corinthian casuals blues. Bad day at the office for the Reds as we couldn’t convert our chances and Corinthian casuals did.

First loss in the league this season.

———-

U14 had a bad day in the league cup, this season is being plagued by injuries and inconsistency.

We started well but lost 6-2 to Mitcham.

Mom went to Tommy who scored 2 and played superb today and Alfie who consistently performs well and had a great game too.
