Weekend of 4/5 Oct
Second week of cup action as several team faces competed on the Surrey League Cup.

Saturday 4th October
U13 Whites got their first win of the season with a strong 7 - 0 performance against Holy Trinity in the Chiltern Church League.
Good bounce back from the opening game loss.
2 new players to the team (Charlie and Kamal) scored goals today which was good to see and should hopefully build their confidence for more goals.
Man of the match performance from Joe who was excellent. Loads of skills, great effort and very close to scoring also.
Held Holy Trinity to no real shots on goal and kept a clean sheet which was good to see.
Capped off a good game with a lovely goal from Tajveer beating 3 players with some lovely footwork and a nice finish. Showing that the hard work at training is paying off.

U14 Whites. Sadly it was a day to forget for sandgate whites losing 8-4 to kings church Amersham.
4-0 down in the first 9 mins due to sloppy defending. Changes made bang on 15 mins brought the score back to a respectable 4-2 at half time. Terry and Ayaan with the goals.
Sadly despite starting the second half how we ended the first half it we conceded 3 goals in quick succession. Two goals again from Terry Taylor brought the score to 7-4 before KCA scored just before the final whistle.
With one division it’s going to be a mixed season for the whites but you never lose , you learn and we learnt a lot from today.
Final score 8-4 to KCA.

U14 Girls.
With the winds swirling, the under 14 girls continued their good start to the season, making it 4 wins from 4 with a comfortable 5-1 win over Actonians.
The girls used the weather conditions to race into a 3-0 half time lead.
A converted 2nd half penalty gave Actonians hope before goals from Inara and Tulula secured the 3 points for Sandgate.
PotM was Florence, who marshalled the defence with Actonians continually going direct.��❤️

Sunday 5th October
U8’s were at home vs Windsor & Eton Eagles Reds
Wasn’t our day today, we didn’t get going, were slow to react to everything just an overall bad day at the office as they say, having said this we didn’t cave in and we never gave up !!!
Windsor and Eton Eagles came away with the win

Our U9’s played away this morning to Maidenhead Utd Hawks U9’s
With a very early start and a 9:15am Kickoff it’s fair to say that for the first 25 minutes of the match the team just didn’t show up.
Which lead to us being 4 nil down and utilising power play.
Once the team finally woke up and started playing football as they’ve been taught, progress was made and some lovely link ups were on display.
Kenny opened our score line today and the team spent most of the second half performing and communicating well and were back on form making for a very good battle in the end.
That said, the opposition managed to get another one in the net and from there we just couldn’t close the gap enough with the time left on the clock to take a draw but Kenny managed to tighten things up with picking up his second goal of the game.
Credit to Shea who pulled off some great saves today preventing the gap from being greater.
Maidenhead Utd Hawks took the win.
Today wasn’t our day, but not everyday will be.
On to the next.
Player of the Match was awarded to Kenny for his constant determination and avoiding the opposition from keeping a clean sheet.

Under 10 Reds played the Maidenhead Royals away.
The boys were excited to keep the momentum going from last week.Our defensive effort was an improvement from the previous week. Everyone worked hard on each possession.
We scored 2 goals in the first half created by excellent assists. The defence kept the score until the second half.
We relaxed a bit in the second letting Maidenhead score two goals with about 3 minutes to go. The boys held their heads high and with great passing by Aryan, and Filip Mathew was able to to score the winning goal.
Another team effort and improvement.

U11 Colts played home vs Singh Sabha Lions
The team didn’t get off to the best start, finding themselves under pressure early on and doing a lot of defending. Singh Sabha took advantage and scored the opening goal, with our left flank exposed during the build-up.
With only one substitute available and two key players missing, the team had to dig deep. Singh Sabha managed to grab a second goal, somewhat against the run of play, and we went into half-time trailing.
After a strong team talk and a few positional changes, the boys came out with renewed energy in the second half. We took control of the game and soon got the goal we deserved. From then on, it was all us creating chance after chance and dominating possession.
Their goalkeeper had a great game and made several key saves, but eventually we got our breakthrough. Wasil, now playing up front after starting in defence, smashed in a screamer to level the game.
We pushed hard right to the final whistle, constantly attacking and testing their keeper, but the winner just wouldn’t come. Still, it was a fantastic second-half performance.

POTM - Wasil – A standout performance. Solid in defence during the first half, and then made a huge impact up front after the break, scoring the crucial equaliser.

U13s, Well done today boys although a 3-1 defeat lots of positives from today’s game
After conceding 3 goals in the first 12 mins we came together as a unit avoiding conceding for the rest of the game. We had a couple of chances ourselves which we didn’t take before they scored which could have made it a different game
They were a very physical team, not a nice one to play against and the boys did very well to keep their cool and play football
We move onto our league next week away v Isleworth

U13 Reds won a scrappy league trophy game against Cheam.
Was a tough start against a team a division above us in the league as they went 3 nil up in the first half. We spoke as a team before the game about the wind and thought the best idea would be to play against the wind whilst we were fresh the first half if we won the toss and try and limit them in the first half. We did win the toss but the boys got off to a slow start letting the opponent play their football at will and did not compete as they usually do. Many of the boys were standing off too much. We made a few changes and managed to get a bit of a fight back on late in the first half managing to put the GK under pressure and nick a goal before half time.
Second half was much more of how we normally play and the team got their belief back and started to compete and make it more of a battle which they started to win well. A goal from Tawhid in the first 10 mins of the second half from relentless pressure from our attackers and an excellent long range effort from Mylo put us back in it and a good late goal from Tarila with 5 mins left won us the game.
Great comeback but probably didnt need to do it the hard way. Showed we could compete against a stronger team, didnt play our best football but battled hard to go through to the next round. Still a lot of work to do but the training is paying off and the team is competing well which is good to see and some valuable game time against a strong team.

Player of the match: Tawhid - Really changed the game for us. Worked well up front putting on pressure and linking well with Tarila up front setting up a lovely final goal with a good cut back.

U13Colts faced Corinthian Casuals in the league trophy, who play 4 divisions higher than us.
Despite best efforts from the team, Corinthian’s quality and speed shone through and they won 13-0.
We played really well, held our shape and were only 1 nil down after 25 mins.
Conceded 3 in last 10 of half.
Second half they brought on a quality striker and we tired and had no subs, then an injury had us down to 10 men and corinthians were ruthless and banged the goals away.
Tough day for our team, but plenty to learn from.
Looking forward to getting back to league action next week!

U14 reds lost 3-2 to Walton & Hersham in the Surrey league cup.
Bad day for the team, just didn’t turn up today.

U14 Colts v Woking cougars.
Started off sluggish, and far from our best performance. That said we went 1-0 up with a goal from Tyrell who then went on to score a second before we let Woking through to score their first.
Finally used the left hand side in the second half which is where both goals came from.
Leon scoring one, with then an absolute screamer from Michael who drove from left back and then went and scored.
A few scary moments, with harley pulling off a fantastic save to keep us on top just after they scored a second.
Final score 4-2 and through to the next round.

�� U15s Secure Statement Win Away at Balham FC Final Score: Balham FC 1–2 Sandgate
After a tough few weeks, the U15s bounced back in style with a gritty and composed performance against the league leaders. Every player stepped up, showing heart, discipline, and hunger for the win.
⚽️ Goals: • Adam – Keeps the streak alive with another clinical finish. • Kai – Last-minute heroics to snatch all 3 points!
�� Player of the Match: • Musti – Led by example, dominated midfield, and drove the team forward.
This result reignites our campaign and proves what this squad is capable of when they play with belief and unity
