Can anyone see the ball?
A very foggy start to the weekend, but luckily it cleared with plenty of time for football!
This morning Sandgate U9’s were at home to Windsor & Eton Reds
We knew we were in for a tough game today against a good Windsor & Eton side with them taking the lead 1st catching us on the counter attack, Calmness ensured for us and we soon find ourselves back level finding the net
We had to battle, defend and work hard today, most importantly we had to stick to our jobs on the pitch today. A few reminders from Jay & T to keep everyone focused and the never give up attitude saw us add a couple more goals to our tally
A few chances came for either side through the next few quarters both sides cancelling each other out, the last quarter and we took a chance when it was needed adding to our scoreline, Windsor pushed and managed to take another chance, Sandgate U9’s saw the game out and claiming the win
Good luck to Windsor & Eton Reds for the rest of the season !

Player of the match - We decided to a joint award this morning.
Lennie - For his defensive work, he covered almost every blade of grass, and he grabbed himself a few goals along with his never give up attitude
Rylee - Made some vital saves when needed, his passing and kicking was spot on today too, never dropped his focus and concentration from start to finish

Our U10’s played West Drayton Youth away this morning.
We started well just as we have the past few weeks. The opposition scored against the run of play with a powerful shot.
We kept up the intensity playing some good football and created many chances which fell short of execution.
Izzy struck a banger which unfortunately ricocheted off the crossbar.
We ended the first half with West Drayton Youth in the lead.
A team talk saw us tell the players to not panic and regain their composure. And to go out and continue playing good football and their time will come.
It became a frustrating watch as the ref really had little control over the game. But in fairness he was disappointing from the start, he strolled in late and made some awful decisions that even had the opposition challenging him but we all know you’ll never change their mind on a decision so you just have to suck it up.
Second half they came out fighting and again played some good football and we found the equaliser. Coming from a dribble on by Kenny, who took a couple of players on and slotted it into the bottom right hand corner.
The equaliser saw the opposition challenge the ref claiming the dribble on didn’t start from a stationary ball but it was awarded as a goal in our favour which caused uproar with the opposition.
We continued to create chances with many shots on target but just not finding the net, a suspect handball awarded the opposition a penalty and it was just out of reach of our keeper meaning they took the lead.
Some impressive ball control was on display today, Leo L run rings round a few of them, Ted stopped a few in their tracks with his ball skills.
Despite everyone’s best efforts and a keep battling attitude we just didn’t have enough time on the clock to find another goal today.
So we finished up with a loss.
It’s difficult when you see the team with their heads down, not down because they may not of played their best, but down because they are left feeling disappointed and frustrated by the ref.
From this they will learn that they will need to let it go over their heads and carry on regardless knowing they are playing football to their best ability and to the rules that they know are correct and that the ref will stick with their decision regardless so every game may not feel fair but you’ve just got to keep on going.
POTM was awarded to Kenny this week, he run every inch of the pitch, didn’t back down once and got us on the score sheet.

U11Reds
vs Eaton Wick
A good game for our team. They showed reseilance today.
We faced a highly skilled opposition who was undefeated and played with a disrupted lineup, but the boys showed incredible grit.
Our newest squad member, Abir, made his debut today after a long absence and put in strong effort.
Despite missing some key players in defense, the backline stepped up massively. They put in a strong performance to shut down a very capable Eton Wick offense. The standout performer of the match was our goalkeeper, Timothy, who made a series of exceptionally difficult saves throughout the game. I was worried about a penalty kick but it wide wide.Lots of highlights for the goaly
While it wasn't our best or most fluid performance on offense today, the boys more than made up for it with their work rate. The defensive effort from the entire squad was good today. The intensity was definitely there.
Offense- back to training
Final result, all evens with a draw.
Offensive Player of the Game :Adam
Defensive Player of the game :Timothy

U12s won 3-1 at home to Westside
We were rubbish today but good to secure the win despite playing below par.
Fred 2 goals Kian 1
Liam motm
Expectations going into this fixture was the boys would absolutely destroy westside today…
But you know what, upon reflection huge credit and shout out to the westside team, a man down no real support from there parents and the coach and kids grafted for each other.
They packed the midfield and made the game as horrible and as bitty as they could.
Huge respect and credit to them. Would love to play them again in a few friendlies.
Now to the Sandgate boys… and I’ll start with 1 man! Liam Pirlo the Italian stallion.
He absolutely understood the assignment.
Each time he won the ball he sprayed the ball left to right to our wingers to do the damage.
When he wasn’t in Pirlo mode he changed it to Kante mode and destroyed and won the ball time after time.
Absolute pleasure to watch him today. Wish he scored one of his 2/3 strikes from outside the box.
Lesson for the team to learn move the ball left to right wings faster stop holding it. Dont just play through the middle make the game wide and unpredictable.
3-1 win another tough watch but a wins a win. Onto the next one!

U12 Colts vs Little Tigers FC
We start the game really well but our attacking players were not aggressive enough and after a miskick from our goalkeeper which landed and the oppositions feet, he ran and scored the opening goal.
Half Time 0-1
Second half was a disaster, our goalkeeper got injured and from that point on it was down hill, defence forgot how to defend, when ever the ball was cleared the attacking players couldn't control the ball and the shoots we did have on goal were not on target, so all in all very disappointed this week.
Final Score 0-4

U14s played cb Hounslow today who dropped 3 divs from the prem to their league this season.
So was expecting a differect game.
With the management team away doing charity walks and on holiday it was the chairman that took the team.
With all boys on time for the meet we had a good positive warm up and started the game with the starting team advised by their management team.
The game was pretty even when we took the lead with a great run and cross from Ruben to Tivon on the back post for a nice slotted home goal.
Then the second come from the penalty spot after Nelson was clipped in the box, up stepped Tivon again to strike it home. We then hit the post from 2 free kicks but was slow to follow it up letting them clear their lines both times.
We limited their chances, but they did have 1 chance and I call it that as they run though on goal looking to score Louie sprinting back slide In and made a great interception just as they where about to pull the the trigger, time it wrong and it's a penalty but omg what a great challenge it was, hurting himself in the process and leading to being replaced while needing to be patched up. But helped us to go in at half time 2-0 up.
Second half we got a bit tighter in the middle and was playing so much better football but their back line kept dealing with everything that come their way.
Then we got beat with 1 of their limited chances as our defence was strong all game but just switched off for a split second In The second half and they made it 2-1, the team kept focussed and a great bit of vision from Tivon to play a ball in between 2 players see Nelson bust on to the though ball and with the keeper rushing out and defenders baring down on him, calmly took it round the keeper and slots it home.
3-1 and that's how it finished. Was also great to have 3 of the Saturday boys involved as dual signed and all had good minutes on the pitch to help them develop and understand their positions a little more at this level for their age group.
Goals from Tivon x 2 , Nelson
Motm : Louie for a solid defensive display at left back.

U15 lost 3-1
Awful day, just didn’t get going at all, pitch was poor and journey there awful due to traffic with boys turning up with a min to spare.
But credit to Carshalton today, they totally deserved the win.
We reset and go again next week.

U15 Reds played in a very fiesty game against Raynes Park vale. Raynes Park took an early lead when a miss hit cross went straight in. We then dominated chances for the rest of the game but was missing that cutting edge in front of goal.
Second half was ruined by the referee who lost complete control of the game. We did well to keep our cool and it wasn’t until the last kick of the game we had a free kick out wide and Leon put a lovely ball in the box, it was bouncing around and slammed home by Frankie for a well deserved point but should have been all 3!
