Sandgate U8’s vs Frontline Juniors FC
Sandgate started the TVDL development group stage this morning away to Frontline Jnrs, with only 6 players available we knew we had to work hard and focus on the job at hand.
After a little pep talk before the game Sandgate U8’s started the 1st quarter hungry and ready. U8’s were creating chance after chance and finally managed to get on the score sheet.
We continued our momentum and hunger in the 2nd quarter and again created a few half chances, we kept going adding a few more goals to the score sheet. Power play came into effect and we now had to work harder.
We got a little scrappy in the 3rd quarter but managed to stay focused and defend well
Last quarter saw us grab a few more goals which meant another power play with Frontline now having 7players on the pitch to our 5players.
Full credit to the squad for staying switched on and keeping a clean sheet and coming away with the win. Super proud coaches !!

Our U9’s played 4 Future Pro away this morning and after our last meeting only a couple of weeks ago which turned into a very physical game we wasn’t sure what to expect.
Down to a squad of 10 and another of their favoured early KO’s thrown our way we started strong and created chances from the first whistle and should have been 2 nil up within minutes but despite being on target they hit the pole rather than the net.
Soon after our opposition got themselves on the scoresheet with two goals in quick concession.
Our heads dropped from then, they take it so personally and we need to work on them continuing to keep their heads up. The first half saw 4 Future Pro leading as the whistle went.
After a talk at half time the team lifted their heads and began to play football like I know they can. Some great plays being made and real teamwork being demonstrated, just need to get them talking to each other more.
We finally got ourselves on the scoresheet with a lovely shot from Izzy. And again had shots on target that just didn’t find the net.
In a game that could have ended even overall, ended with the win for 4 Future Pro.
We knew they were going to be a tough team to beat, they are a very strong side and deserved their win. That said I’m proud of the team for digging deep and finding their fighting spirit again today.
Few things to work on in training but that’s what we’re about.
Player of the Match today was awarded to Theo, he had a good, strong game with a few minor errors but has worked on things I’d asked him to improve on and today it showed in his performance.

Sandgate U10s Reds played George Green Warriors
We had previously played them about 3 weeks ago and won. The boys were excited to keep their winning momentum going. The game started off with us defending well early. We had intensity early and kept it up. The boys again were unselfish and passed improving each week. A few mistakes here and there but the effort really showed. We scored early in the first half to lead. We spoke about the defense dictating the outcome of the game and we did exactly that. The whole team played with focus which continued during the 2nd half.
George Green had a few scoring opportunities. We really were fortunate on one goal attempted close to the keeper which missed.
Final result was a Sandgate win

U11 Colts vs Cippenham Vipers
Coming into this game without playing last weekend, missing two training sessions, and facing an unfamiliar opponent, we weren’t sure what to expect. The first half was evenly matched, with both teams creating chances. Cippenham, however, took the lead with a well taken goal. Their second goal came from a mistake when one of our defenders miss controlled the ball and inadvertently set up their attacker.
We responded well and pulled one back through a composed finish.
After the break and following a change of goalkeeper we started the second half far too slowly. The away side showed more urgency and took advantage, scoring three more goals, two of which came from goalkeeping errors. We managed to get another goal, but it wasn’t enough to mount a comeback. Full time, unfortunately a loss.

U13 Reds were lucky to get the win today beating Met Police 2 - 1.
The opponent today was probably the best team we have played this season and their results and league position didnt show today. A really good football team. They was by far the better team in the first half.
First half started really well. We pushed hard and fast and went 1 nil up very early (3 mins) with another goal from Oscar. However we then shut off and stopped competing, stopped releasing the ball, trying to keep it and kick / pass it through players instead of making good passing angles or move the ball around the opponent. This allowed Met Police back in the game and they could move the ball well and counter attack very rapidly. We got lucky with a few shots hitting the post/ bar to keep us in it but Met Police managed to score and it went 1 all.
Half time couldn't come early enough and was a wake up call - I asked the boys to show what they could do and not give it away as they had been and I must say that although we was far from impressive in the second half, the team switched on and reacted really well and it showed. This was great to see and I am pleased to see how they responded. We have consistently shown this season we can react well when things dont go our way but the team needs to learn to not get into these situations as it will not always go our way and we make it so hard for ourselves at times.
We managed to keep them well contained in the second half and get the vital second goal with Daniel Z getting in on the back post from RM to score and make it 2 - 1. Met Police still looked dangerous at times but we managed to keep it 2 - 1.
Players that had a solid game today - Dan B, Oscar, Joe, Tarila done well for us & Mylo and Kirill in second half were what helped get us the win in the end.

A massive well done to Dan Z today. Player of the match (maybe the best I have seen him play which is so good to see), got the vital 2nd goal and worked very hard today.
We keep the winning start to push at the top of the table.

U13 Whites lost 3 - 1 in the Chiltern league cup today against Chalfont Wasps. Its their first loss since the opening day of the season.
It was a wet and muddy pitch against a team from the division above but the team didnt play too badly but unfortunately didnt do enough to win the game. We went behind quite early with the boys giving Chalfont a bit too much respect and time on the ball. They got a second before we started to battle back and managed to get a goal late in the first half with a good goal from Oscar from a lovely through ball by Tarila.
The team pushed hard to get an equaliser but couldn't manage to score and got caught when Chalfont scored their third.
Great to see Tayo get his first game for Sandgate - Another new player starting which is the third game in a row to have a new player start for the team. The Whites now have a full team which is pretty much made up of development players, many playing their first proper games of football with a couple of the Reds helping on matches to help build and support them in the games until their confidence grows. Which is great to see

Tough day for the U13 Colts against Richmond and Kew.
With a just bare 10 and no GK the boys battled immensely.
Difficult start with just a 10min warm up, and with only 9 as traffic was awful and game on/game off delayed decision, and had the bright sun in their eyes the whole first half!
4-0 down after first 20 mins, but now at 10 men, the boys really settled into the game. Some good passages of play but just couldn’t quite convert in the final third.
Went into half time 5-0 down, but they remained resilient, and went out strong.
Some great play up the flanks, some superb defending and so proud of the physicality and never give up attitudes shown today.
Only one further goal from open play. But sadly 2 pens conceded, left the final score 8-0.
Huge thanks to Danyal, Kian and Aymen for each taking a stint in goal today. Well done lads.
Huge shout to Riley S, not quite back from injury, but came to support and offered to run the line for us, in the absence of a willing parent. Superb effort Riley, thank you!
PotM- Mason B. Absolutley bossed the defence today. Coach Steve said it was like watching a young John Terry!
Tough score line, but the boys can take so many positives from the game today.

U14 Reds drew 2-2 with isleworthians Reds. With a few boys missing, we were short in certain positions. But the boys were magnificent throughout. We were leading 2-0 at half time and with 10 mins to go.
Isleworthians then got back into it when a mid cue of a cross ended up going straight in. Then with seconds to play they equalised. Unfortunate result but the boys were tremendous throughout.

U14’s played Hampton and Richmond in the County trophy
We had a good start scoring within 3 minutes, a fabulous team goal and sublime finish from Harvey, and then unfortunately let 3 goals in before half time.
We come out fighting in the second half and unfortunately conceded against the run of play. We then pulled one back from Casey. Then pushing for the equaliser we left ourselves exposed and conceded again.
Not the win we wanted but the boys tried their hardest on the day.
Mom went to Muzz who covered so much ground today.

Sandgate U14 whites 2, Holy Trinity 4.
Yesterday saw the whites bail out of the cup with a poor first half going 4-0 down. A goal from John got us back to 4-1 and a stunning goal from Jeremy saw a second in the second half . The second half was all Sandgate with the holy trinity keeper keeping them in the game.

Sandgate 14s colts went 1-0 against the run of play to St Helliers. However were quite simply told to hit the channels and that they did.
Tyrell finally scoring after a number of missed chances.
From then we went and scored a second doing the same thing but from the other side going into half time 2-1 up.
It was all Sandgate from then on. Despite having a knock “coach Theon” suggested a couple of positional changes which rightly so changed the game. The whole in the centre midfield was covered with Leo and Dave, and then Terry went and played in the 10. A ball over the top from Leo saw Tyrell in again to score , and a few minutes later a through ball from Dave saw Terry through to score. A goal from the half way line from Kaian, and Tyrell on the score sheet again. Final score 6-1. Tyrell 4, Terry 1 , kaian 1

Sandgate Men’s Team secured a commanding 9–1 victory over Harefield Legion, producing some of their best football of the season, particularly in a dominant first-half display.
The scoring got underway early when Rodwell converted a penalty in the 4th minute. Clarke then struck twice in quick succession, finding the net in the 8th and 18th minutes to set the tone for the afternoon. Rodwell added his second on 28 minutes, before Stone made it five on 32. Just before the break, Ellis nicked Sandgate’s sixth to cap off an excellent first-half performance.
Harefield came out with renewed spirit after the interval and showed real determination, creating a few good chances before pulling one back on 56 minutes. Sandgate had to wait until the 70th minute to extend their lead, when Donaghey curled home a superb free kick.
The game opened up after that, and just two minutes later Man of the Match Clarke completed his first hat-trick for the Gate. With only two minutes remaining, Batelle rounded off the scoring with a well-deserved goal.
All in all, it was a great performance after a week’s lay-off. Full credit to Harefield Legion, who continued to battle until the final whistle.
Man of the Match Clarke summed it up afterwards, joking:
