SATURDAY

———-

U13 Whites won 5 - 0 vs Fullerians in the Chiltern League to stay top of the league.

Very good performance from the Whites. A game they should have won but the team followed instructions well and showed what they can do. Good to see them starting to link up well especially with the new players in the team.

A tight first half with Kamal scoring just before half time with a lovely run to beat the GK at the first post to get on a nice corner. Second half came out on fire. Daniel Z who normally plays RB or RM playing upfront getting a goal a minute in and a second goal in the first 10 mins to really put the game beyond the opponent. JK worked so hard all game and got his second goal in 2 weeks before Archie getting the final goal from a late penalty.

Good solid performance all round. Very pleased with the work and play with all players working very hard for each other.

SUNDAY

Sandgate U8’s were at home to Windsor & Eton Eagles Blues this morning

I’ve been saying for a while that our hard work in training will soon pay off in games and today it showed, we started lively and on the front foot passing  the ball around, keeping shape while creating chances and getting on the scoresheet, a few moments of madness and loss concentration saw Windsor get back in the game.

A few words from me and T saw the team go back out hungry for goals and they notched a few in a he 3rd quarter, saying this we still worked and kept to job in hand. Windsor managed to grab a goal of two in the 4th quarter.

Sandgate U8’s coming away with the win ⚪️

Our U9’s played at home against Sporttiers Blacks U9.

Word going around is that they have started the season strong and been unbeaten.

We got off to a good start this week, playing strong and they were hungry for the ball.

Must be something about the 9th minute as again this week Ivy managed to secure our first goal after a lovely assist from Kenny 9 minutes in.

From then both teams played with determination and Sporttiers were working hard to equalise.

Our keeper Shea deflected a shot but fell short on being able to keep it in his hands so Sporttiers took their opportunity with the rebound bringing us level pegging at half time.

The second half brought more of the same with both teams playing some good football. We created lots of chances and shots were fired but their keeper was saving everything in sight.

With the game coming close to the final whistle and us awarded a corner.

Our left footed power house Theo struck the ball straight into the box where Izzy saw her opportunity, despite it being tight on space she slotted it straight into the back of the net.

A beautiful link up from both Theo and Izzy yet again! Something they got really good at last year was being able to give each other “the look” before running their link up.

Another good game of football to watch from both teams today.

Final result was a win to Sandgate.

Player of the Match was awarded to Izzy for her all round effort today and for pulling off the goal that gave us the win.

U10 Reds won today away to the Townsmead Reds.

The boys played hard from the start. We improved a bit from last week getting the ball downfield.

The defence started the game with intensity and it carried throughout the game. We were down in the 1st half and came back to score and nick the win in the 2nd.

We had plenty of scoring opportunities today and quite a  few missed the target. Very happy with their effort.

U11s won.

Should have won by more. Not fully convincing but tough pitch and tough opposition.

U11 Colts vs Sporttiers Blue

The team were buzzing with excitement today due to the match being filmed, giving the team an extra reason to shine. And they didn’t disappoint.

From the first whistle, the boys came out firing. Our striker wasted no time getting us on the score sheet, netting two early goals and setting the tone for the match. The team built on this momentum, combining well and pushing forward with purpose to add a third goal. Just before the break, Sporttiers Blue pulled one back with a well taken strike, making it favourable to Sandgate at half time .

A composed and focused team talk saw the team return to the pitch even more determined. The second half was an attacking entertainment from our side, as we added an impressive seven more goals to the tally. Despite a couple of defensive errors, one from a missing defender and another due to a goalkeeper error we conceded only two more, finishing the game with a very nice win for the team.

This was undoubtedly the best performance of the season so far, showcasing teamwork, determination, and a hunger for goals.

U13 Reds won 4 - 2 away today against NPL Comets in the Middlesex Cup.

Wasn't our best performance but nice to beat the team that knocked us out of the cup last year. Really showed the development and improvements the team has made against a good footballing team.

We raced off to a 3 nil lead with 2 goals from Tarila and 1 from Tawhid. They nicked a goal just before half time which changed the game a bit as we were fairly comfortable before their goal and looking strong.

Lost our shape a bit in the second half but the team chased and pressed hard, working hard to stop the other team from playing. Several decisions didn’t go our way, but the boys did well to keep their heads and keep battling hard.

We got a 4th with a bullet header from Kirill from a lovely corner by Jake with about 12 mins left to play. This sealed the game for us. NPL got a dodgy pen late on which they scored and we should have really scored a couple late on but you could see the boys were tired from the earlier hard work. All in all happy with the win, a few bits to work on but all good learning and a good win against another team from the division above to keep the cup run going.

Goals:

Tarila ⚽️⚽️

Tawhid ⚽️

Kirill ⚽️

Player of the Match: Jake - Was fantastic all game. Brought a good amount of energy to the game, was solid at the back helping to keep the defence strong and set up the 4th with a lovely corner delivery.

U13colts lost 5-3 away to Kew Park Rangers

This was unfortunately just one of those games where very little fell our way, we had plenty of shots on goal in the first half but they were off target or keeper made some good saves.

They caught us out on the counter, and built a nice 3-0 lead, but we pulled one back via Mason J just on the half time break.

Mason J then grabbed a second to make it 3-2.

Kew nicked two more, but then Samson brought us back to 5-3 with a superb free kick effort.

Scrappy game at times, and missing two of our usual back four made things tougher than it needed to be. Well done to Mason B, Mo, and Aymen for stepping in to help in defence today.

Will be practising throw ins this week as the ref awarded 25+ foul throws between the two teams. Never seen anything like it!

Goals:

Mason J ⚽️⚽️

Samson ⚽️

PotM: Ralph for another game where he was the hardest working player on the pitch. A great captain’s performance today, and he did everything with a smile, as always!

U14 played Twickenham Tigers in the Middlesex Trophy

It wasn’t the best football played today but we were still on top and commanded the game.

We went 1-0 up in the 10th minute thanks to some great pressure from Tommy G who made the keeper and defender make a mistake and the ball looped over into the goal.

Casey then from a corner got us 2-0 up after it deflected straight off the keeper into the near post.

We went in 2-0 up at half time.

In the 2nd half we continued to press and Alfie Nichols put away the 3rd brilliantly.

Then a great run from Yuvi from the wing saw him power in the 4th.

We then let them get a goal back 5 mins from time before holding out for the win.

Final score 4-1
