Sandgate U10 Arrows got through to the League Cup Final with a hard fought victory against Old Actonian Lions in very windy conditions at Bourne Farm, Hayes. The first half was a very tight affair with limited chances for both teams, 0-0 at half time. Sandgate took the lead in the second half, Nikhil Wright’s header just crept over the line making it 1-0. Sandgate had the lead until the very last minute when a long free kick fell kindly to Old A’s forward, who slotted the ball home 1-1. The game went into extra time with both teams creating opportunities. Sandgate went ahead again through their goalkeeper Jayden St Paul. Jayden launched a goal kick right up the other end of the pitch it took one bounce straight over the keepers head to send the home teams supporters delirious 2-1. Ben Forde made it 3-1 after some good works down the right from Jack McKenzie. Jack finished the scoring off after rounding the keeper to slot the ball home with his left foot 4-1.
