This weekend Sandgate joined in with The FA’s ‘Set Your Stall Out’ weekend.
We are now at the start of a seventh season of the FA’s commitment to promote Respect. We introduced the programme in 2008 in response to widespread concern that the game that we all love was on some occasions being distorted or ruined at all levels of football by abusive behaviour. The health of any sport is dependent on – the excitement, skills, tactics, momentum of the game itself but also on how the game is played and the relationships between players, referees, team officials and spectators. Many people looking at football at this time witnessed behaviour that bought into question their love of the sport.
With 9 home games, and no reported incidents, maybe the message is finally getting there.
RESPECT!
