Sept 19th/20th - Lots more teams with home fixtures this week, great to see the club buzzing with so many parents and players back at Bourne Farm. Some teams had league games, others cup fixtures, read on for all the action.......
Sandgate U9’s were at home vs Holyport Knights this morning
A bad day at the office for us, starting the game well and having chances, grabbing a goal early with end to end football, a few last ditch challenges from both teams
We ended the 1st quarter level as Holyport grabbed a goal, 2nd quarter saw us battle again and grabbing another goal… it was from this point that it became a bad day for us as we completely switched off and unfortunately forgot our jobs on the pitch. Full credit to Holyport as they took advantage and punished us, good little side with some good little players.
Just wasn’t our day today, Holyport Knights coming away with the win, all the best for the rest of the season guys
Back to work in training and we go again next week !!!

Sandgate u10s played away to Sporttier Blue u10s
The game started very competitive with both teams working hard, we had our chances, as did they but all the players stuck to their jobs and we went into half time level 0-0.
Second half, Sporttier were getting frustrated they couldn't get through our midfield or defence and we started to take control. There was some excellent football on display from our team and the passing was brilliant. Half way through second half Ivy battled her way through on goal and managed to get us the lead. Another 10mins of brilliant football, Leo L then put in a ball over the top and Izzy got on the end of it and we scored again!
Final result, a win for Sandgate!
Well done to the whole team for giving it their all. It's nice to see that they have taken what we have been working on in training into their games! Great start to the season!
Player of the Match went to Ivy who worked super hard, never gave up and got that goal we needed!

Our U10 Colts played Core FC - Windsor Wolverines away this morning.
With a very early goal conceded not long after the whistle blew, it sparked a fire in the team and they begun to dig deep.
There were some moments of good football and they are slowly starting to grasp positioning etc… however the more goals conceded did make their heads drop a little.
However, nothing a few word of encouragement didn’t fix.
The second half saw them earn more goals, coming from one of their own players and a third coming from the opposition who kindly loaned us a player as we only had one sub available today, so gave more boys an opportunity to get some extra minutes on the ball when we utilised power play.
Final result was a win for Core FC - Windsor
POTM went to our number 6 - Moosa great end to his birthday celebrations this week, worked hard and scored two goals for his team.

Sandgate U11s against Taplow United FC, coming away with a victory. Turgot was an absolute brick wall at the back today, stopping everything that came his way. The entire defensive work-rate was excellent, shutting down their attacks and staying incredibly disciplined.Ball control was good. I was incredibly proud of our possession time, which was over 70% and our unselfish play. The boys looked comfortable on the ball, passed intelligently, and completely controlled the tempo of the game.Filip would have had two goals but one was dismissed because the whistle had blown.

U12s won 4-3
Was 2/0 down to Ashford
Decided to start playing and went 4-2 up
Should have gone about 10-2 up but couldn’t score. Ashford played 4 at the back at 9 a side so was hard to score against
Ashford scored a worldie late on to make it 4-3
3 points but not happy with the score

U12 Colts vs Foxes Yellows FC
What a way to kick off the season! it had it all, drama, grit, and a sensational comeback.
We came out firing from the opening whistle, carving open the opposition’s defence. After falling behind early, the boys showcased incredible heart to pull back an immediate equalizer through Aliakbar. A tough piece of luck right before the whistle put us down 1-2 which was unexpected going through the goalkeepers hands and legs.
After the team talk and motivating the players we spent virtually the entire half parked in their zone, searching for the breakthrough. Mohammed delivered the spark with a stunning strike from outside the box to equalise. Then, with time ticking away, a tactical shift moving Wasil up front from defence paid ultimate dividends. Wasil smashed home the late winner to spark wild celebrations on the sidelines!
Final scores 3-2
Goals: Aliakbar , Mohammed , Wasil

U15’s played AFC Ewell, we knew coming into this league was going to be tough and this was one of them games where we was very evenly matched.
We went in 0-0 half time
It honestly looked as if no goal would be scored from open play and the first goal came as a penalty to AFC after a mistake at the back, we nearly saved it but trailed 1-0. What impressed me was the attitude of the boys, no heads went down and we fought back scoring a beautiful team goal making it 1-1.
We then looked the better team but couldn’t find the second goal.
Really pleased with the performance and an excellent draw, sometimes in not always about the 3 points but the grinding out of a well deserved point which actually felt like a win.
Mom went to Archie who was outstanding at the back today.

U15 Reds played Northfields Utd in the county cup this morning.
A frustrating start to the game saw an offside goal given against us as the ref completely blanked our lineswoman who was in perfect position to see their goalscorer clearly in an offside position head the ball in the net, soon followed by a worldie of a strike to put us 0-2 down.
The boys fought back though and started to have the better of the play especially in the second half, almost camped in their half. We scored via a penalty but couldn’t quite get the second we deserved. Good performance bad result, we move onto next week.
