Season start Sept 2026! Sept 14/15 Weekly match reports

22 Sep 2026

2026/27 season here we go!

So exciting to see so many teams back in action at Bourne Farm this week as several of the leagues started. After the desperately hot and dry summer our volunteers have done a great job getting the pitches back up and running. Thanks to all parents and players for their patience in training offsite for the summer weeks.

U15 girls opened their league account in the berks league with a come from behind 2-1 win over Wargrave.
It was a highly competitive game, our girls were a bit rusty and wasteful in front of goal but was great to see the quality of some of the football we produced.

Sunday 15th

Sandgate U9’s were away to Taplow Utd Blues this morning

Despite us not managing to get a friendly in before the season started Sandgate started the game strong seeing most of the possession and finding the net !

Taplow managed to get back in the game through our rustiness but we never stopped battling trying to get back into the game, Taplow managed to add to their goal tally throughout the next few quarters. Sandgate had chances but unfortunately could find the net until the last quarter, But it was good to be back after a long summer and loads of positives to take forward.

Special mention to Leo and Dimi making their debuts for the U9’s, well played lads lots of positives from you guys too

Taplow came away with the win, all the best Taplow for the season ahead

We go again next week, C’mon Sandgate

Sandgate u10s played at home to Harefield Reds.

We started well and had control of the game, Kenny scored for us half way through the first half. Harefield put up a fight and made it a physical game and then managed to score just before half time from a corner kick. Half time draw.

Second half was a battle and both teams pushed but neither could seem to find the net. Kenny managed to win a penalty 5mins from the end, he then stepped up and put us in the lead!

Super proud of the players today great team performance, everyone worked really hard and didn't let the oppositions tactics get in their heads and managed to come away with a great win!

Final result, a win to sandgate! ⚪️

Player of the Match went to Milad. He gave it 110% today! Well done!

Our U10 Colts played Sporttiers Blues U10s in their first ever league game today.
After only been formed a few weeks ago and with the recent summer holidays they have only had one training session and one friendly together as a full team. So there is lots to work on moving forward.

They gave it their all and most importantly enjoyed their first experience.
This team will be a true development team who have started their football journey 3 years later than most.

Today was not about the result, in fact primarily this season won’t ever be about the result for this team but more about learning the game.

Player of the Match went to Logan, he spent last season as a training player and he has developed massively over this time and spent today demonstrating everything he has been working hard on.

U11 Reds vs Cippenham Magpies at Sandgate.

Today was great start to the season! It was  our first league match at home, and the boys delivered an incredible performance, walking away with a victory against the Cippenham Magpies. It was a  team effort from start to finish, with some outstanding individual highlights:
Arav, our fantastic new addition, put on a masterclass in great defence, shutting down the opposition's attacks. Adam played his very first game for the team today and fit right into the squad with a great performance.

I think this was the Magpies first season together. Our team had more experience.  This was still a good victory for the team and a good way to get the momentum going in the right direction.

U15 Youth started the season in the same league as the Sandgate U15 Reds for a 3rd consecutive season.
Always a good derby game and fiercely contested game as you would expect, considering we both hadn’t played much pre season, both teams gave everything on the pitch.
Was great to give my new players game time and was pleased with the team performance.

A game to forget for us today. Just didn’t get going and was a very off day at the office today. Credit where credits due to Scott and his team who won the game comfortably. 2-6

U16s Played away against Twickenham Tigers

Going into this game with minimal training and no friendlies we thought we were going to struggling

Having lost 3 players this season we showed heart, determination and guts to beat a team we lost twice to last season. We were excellent

Krish playing up top scored all 3 goals

Moved a few players around this year as we thought it just didn’t work last year

Final score:  2-3 to Sandgate
