Sandgate coaches walking 146 miles to provide therapy for local youngsters

1 Jan 2022

* Is your child suffering and you’re struggling to understand what’s wrong?

* Has your child suffered something traumatic recently and you would like them to speak to a trained professional?

* Is your child currently on a waiting list for CAMHS or another similar organisation?

* Is your child in with the wrong crowd, causing you to be worried ?

* Does your child suffer anxiety-peer pressure, social media, trying to fit in, worrying about not fitting in?

If so then some of our Sandgate FC coaches and parents are part of a charity event called Miles For Smiles which will help. Starting May 12th, they will be walking 146 miles to a number of our local Football stadiums including Wembley, Fulham and Brentford over 10 days.

The fundraiser is aimed at providing mental health intervention for children who’s parents can’t afford a private therapist for their child, or may be able to afford a small contribution but not the high costs associated with a private therapist.

Club members can speak to their Sandgate coach, and local non-members can contact Iver Youth Community Services, who are working with a team of 5 professional therapists to provide these critical interventions.
